Detailed Summary

Andy welcomes Kimberly Gallagher, founder of The Feng Shui Flow and a globally recognized feng shui expert, to discuss how adjusting workspace energy can foster focus, abundance, and business success. Kimberly shares how she discovered feng shui during lockdown after losing her teaching job, using it to overcome stagnation and eventually building a thriving international business.

She explains feng shui as “acupuncture for your home,” focusing on energy flow rather than aesthetics. Practical tips include sitting in the command position with a solid wall behind, surrounding yourself with aspirational visuals, using real plants, playing calming music, and placing an amethyst crystal for focus. She emphasizes setting clear intentions and creating energetic boundaries—like putting work away at night—to separate professional and personal life.

The conversation also explores Flying Stars Feng Shui, a more advanced approach that accounts for construction dates and annual energy shifts. Kimberly shares how energy “locks” can occur after the feng shui New Year in February, affecting prosperity. She closes by directing listeners to thefengshuiflow.com and previewing her upcoming book, The Calm and Happy Home (November 2025), which includes a chapter on workplace feng shui.

WooBiz+ Segment:

In this members-only segment, Kimberly dives into specific wealth-activation techniques using Flying Stars Feng Shui. She explains how to locate your home’s southeast wealth area, declutter it, and add intentional symbols like travel photos, aspirational art, and a personalized “wealth bowl” with mirrored energy doubling. She also shares tips for using the kitchen stove as a prosperity magnet and diagnosing energy flow issues—powerful insider strategies not shared in the public feed.

[01:00] success and growth.

[01:01] Are you ready?

[01:03] This one’s going to be a good one. Let’s get started.

[01:06] Today’s guest is Kimberly Gallagher, the founder of the Feng Shui Flow and a globally respected feng shui expert who bridges the gap between traditional practice and modern living.

[01:16] Kimberly helps individuals, businesses, and even global brands create calm, supportive and abundant places,

[01:23] whether at home or at work, which is what we care about. And we’re going to talk to her about that.

[01:27] Her work has gained international recognition, attracting celebrities,

[01:31] leading designers, and a thriving community of followers. And in November 2025, in a couple of weeks,

[01:37] she’s going to release her debut book, the Calm and Happy Home, with one of the world’s largest publishing houses.

[01:44] Splitting her time between Australia’s Gold coast and the UK,

[01:48] Kimberly is also the resident Feng Shui expert on ITV’s this Morning and Australia’s the Morning show, where she shares her insights with millions of viewers.

[01:56] And she’s known for her warmth and professionalism.

[01:59] She makes ancient wisdom both accessible and inspiring for today’s world.

[02:05] Kimberly, welcome to the show. It’s nice to see you.

[02:08] Kimberley Gallagher: Oh, it’s so lovely to be here. Thank you so much for having me.

[02:13] Andy Walker: My absolute pleasure. I’m really excited because I discovered feng shui relatively recently,

[02:21] like in the last year or so, and started reading books on it, starting moving things around in my house. And I work at home, so it’s my workplace too. Right.

[02:28] So today I really want to know, like, we’re going to talk about how feng shui can help your business,

[02:33] but also too, I’m really curious about your backstory. So maybe we’ll start with,

[02:38] and you’ve probably heard this a million times, what is feng shui? And then how did you get into it?

[02:45] Kimberley Gallagher: Do you know? It’s a really great, great Question. Because I thought I knew what feng shui was. And first of all,

[02:52] you can pronounce it however you want, because I think people look at it and go, is it feng shui? Is it feng shui? Is it feng shui? It doesn’t matter.

[03:00] Like, if you’re from the Eastern world, you would say feng shui. I say feng shui. I think it’s my accident, my accent. And, you know, I think that puts a lot of people off.

[03:09] And I also thought it meant having a house that was pristine, clean,

[03:14] white furniture,

[03:15] like no living space whatsoever.

[03:18] So I just thought it wasn’t for me. And really the best way to describe it, it’s like acupuncture for your home.

[03:26] So it’s all about energy. It’s about releasing energy blocks, like releasing that stagnant feeling that we often get in life. It’s about letting the good energy just simply flow. And when good energy comes, that’s when you get that lovely, light and breezy feeling.

[03:45] Like, you know, when you go on vacation and you step into that hotel, which has most probably been designed to make you feel amazing,

[03:54] that’s how your home should feel. You should walk into your home. I mean, let’s face it, we pay the most amount of money to either rent or purchase our home,

[04:04] and quite often we take it for granted. I took it for granted. I didn’t have a relationship with my home. And you buy a home based on feeling, you walk around, or you rent a home based on feeling and you’re like, oh, this feels amazing.

[04:19] Or you turn it down because you’re like, ah, it just didn’t feel right.

[04:23] And then as soon as you move in, you go,

[04:26] oh, well, there’s our kitchen, that’s where we cook.

[04:28] There’s our living room, that’s where we watch tv, that’s our bedroom, that’s where we sleep. And it just turns into this practical four walls that is just there and you, you come in and you just exist.

[04:40] And then you, you know, you just carry on with your life. And so feng shui is about really respecting the space that you’re in, having a relationship with it. Which I know sounds mad, but homes have personalities.

[04:53] Like,

[04:54] if I asked you now and the listeners to say,

[04:58] if your home had a personality, how would you describe it?

[05:03] Would it be light,

[05:05] fun,

[05:06] have a sense of humour?

[05:08] Or is it a bit grumpy,

[05:10] a bit stuck in its ways? Like it’s completely lost its sense of humor?

[05:15] And that’s how I felt in.

[05:18] In my home. Like, I just. I knew that the energy was off because things like the wifi would be really difficult.

[05:25] There was always something that wasn’t working. And we lived in a really old cottage. It was built in 1569 in the UK. So it was, you know,

[05:36] it was stuck in its ways and quite rightly so. It’d been there for a long time,

[05:42] but it just felt like there was this heavy energy.

[05:45] And I used to be a teacher. I was a teacher for 10 years,

[05:51] and in lockdown, I was made redundant.

[05:54] And I,

[05:57] you know, just like we all were, we were spending a lot more time in our homes. And I tried to start a business which actually needed to be customer facing.

[06:08] It just. It wasn’t working. And I just felt like I was banging my head against a brick wall just trying to get this idea off the ground. And no matter what I did,

[06:20] it didn’t work.

[06:22] And so I started to be really aware of where I got my information from in. In lockdown, because I knew it was impacting my mental health just listening to the news 24 7.

[06:34] So I started listening to more podcasts and,

[06:37] you know,

[06:38] sort of thinking, trying to think more positively, like with affirmations and goal setting and all of these things, because it did get me down. And trying to start a business where you just can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel is.

[06:49] Is really hard.

[06:51] So I stumbled across a podcast where a feng shui consultant was talking to the host about how you can use feng shui to attract a partner into your life.

[07:02] And I remember cleaning at the time. Like, I was cleaning and I was hooping and vacuuming, and I just thought, what a load of rubbish. Like, who is this woman and what is she talking about?

[07:13] Like, how is that possible?

[07:15] And then two weeks later, the podcast host, she was like, I’ve met someone.

[07:20] Like, literally out of the blue, this person’s come into my life now. It wasn’t the right person. So this is sort of part of the. The thing to say is when you set your intentions, be clear about what it is that you want to attract into your life and your business.

[07:35] But she did meet someone and it just sparked something.

[07:39] So I did a bit of Googling because I had quite a lot of time on my hands.

[07:44] And what I found was that some of the most successful people around the world incorporated some elements of feng shui into their home and into their business.

[07:58] Richard Branson is a huge fan, and if you look at him, he’s got homes all around the world, he’s got hotels all around the world. He’s, you know, all of the stuff that he owns, he’s doing something right.

[08:09] You know, even the Beckhams, even,

[08:12] you know, a lot of some of the politicians. And, you know, I don’t want to get into it. Even Donald Trump is a fan of doing something in his buildings.

[08:21] And rightly or wrongly, all of these people have had successful careers and lives and live. Especially Richard Branson, I think. I think he’s sort of got it right, that family, that business, and he’s got that life balance, which is really hard to find.

[08:37] And I thought,

[08:39] I actually then got a bit angry because I thought, well, why do they know about it?

[08:42] But I don’t.

[08:44] Like, I am here at home, daughter, dog in this house, husband’s gone to work.

[08:49] I’m trying to get a business off the ground which on paper should work.

[08:53] And it wasn’t working.

[08:55] So I thought, right, I’m going to get this lady to analyze my home. Let’s find out what’s going on.

[09:00] And it uses the five elements to balance the energy in your home. So you look at an area and you say it’s called, without overcomplicating it, it’s called Flying Stars Feng shui, which basically looks like a game of Sudoku when you’re doing it.

[09:16] And you look at when the house was built.

[09:20] And you can do this for businesses, too. Like when it was built, where it sits geographically, that tells us what’s happening energetically, just like when you have your astrology done.

[09:30] When were you born? Where were you born? And it tells you all of this about you. Well, feng shui is like astrology for the building. So it tells you what’s going on.

[09:39] And some of those things are great and you want to enhance it,

[09:43] and some of those things aren’t so great and you want to neutralize it. And don’t get me wrong,

[09:48] some of the things were utterly bonkers, like hiding some metal in your house and,

[09:54] you know,

[09:55] adding this, that and the other. And I just thought, do you know what? What have I got to lose? I haven’t got anything to lose. I’m going to give it a go.

[10:02] Andy Walker: Yeah.

[10:03] Kimberley Gallagher: And it works on intention. So it’s like, what was it that I wanted to bring into my life? And instead of honing in on this one business,

[10:12] I was like, do you know what? I want any business,

[10:15] any business where I can work completely remotely, because I knew that we were going to be coming to Australia, so I didn’t want to start something in the UK that then I Had to start all over again when we moved.

[10:28] I wanted to be financially independent and not just financially independent. I wanted to be able to sell this shit by myself if I wanted or needed to. You know, my husband had worked long and hard enough.

[10:40] Like I want. Imagine if you could have that business that you loved and that allowed you to do that. Like that’s what my dream was. I wanted to help people.

[10:49] I think my teaching background was very much that’s in me. Like I want to help people and I wanted to enjoy what I did. And that was my intention and I just sort of put it out there.

[11:00] I was like, that’s what I want to do.

[11:02] And then a month after having it done, I had an email from the lady that analyzed my home to say that she was running her last, last ever certification course.

[11:11] Would I want to do it? And up until that point,

[11:15] never did it ever cross my mind that I would first of all be doing something a bit woo in my home. Because I’m not naturally spiritual. I’m really not. I was raised and my dad’s a painter and decorator in England.

[11:30] My mum, you know, was a stay at home mom.

[11:33] Not religious, not anything.

[11:35] Andy Walker: Right.

[11:35] Kimberley Gallagher: And now like, could this be something that I’m going to be doing? And it was a hilarious conversation with my husband because he didn’t even know that I’d feng shui the house.

[11:47] Cause I think,

[11:48] you know, he would have been like, oh my God, she’s finally lost the plot. Like what is she doing?

[11:52] So I sort of had to say, oh,

[11:55] you know, I’ve decided what I want to do. I want to do this course.

[11:58] And it was a lot of money. It was 10,000American dollars to do the course. So it wasn’t a quick decision.

[12:04] And I didn’t have it because I’d been made redundant from teaching. So it’s, it was a family decision to do that.

[12:12] But you know, when you get that guttural feeling that this is the right thing to do. And I can’t explain why because there is nothing in my history that says that this is the pathway for me.

[12:27] And it’s the one of the best decisions that I’ve ever made in my life because it has changed my life.

[12:38] Andy Walker: Well, and look at you. I mean, how many followers do you have? You have a hundred thousand followers or something crazy like that. And it’s only been a few years.

[12:44] It’s astonishing really. Like you’re a demonstration of this modality.

[12:51] You decided to do it.

[12:53] Clearly you followed the rules or you adapted it Accordingly. And here you are and you’re living in two countries and you’re doing really well and you have followers in a new book.

[13:02] And I mean it’s, it’s, and I’m guessing financially it’s worked out too, right?

[13:07] Kimberley Gallagher: Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Like we’ve literally just moved into.

[13:11] And I, I, I get this huge imposter syndrome when I talk about these things because you know, this wasn’t me being a teacher, you know, a part time teacher. And we’ve literally just moved into our dream home over here on the Gold coast and literally last week and you know,

[13:24] we’re sort of walking around going, oh my goodness, is this our reality? And I sort of keep coming back and you know, I’ve got my own office, which is mad.

[13:33] Like I literally built this business on a temporary desk in the corner of a room and where life has changed to. But I just think it’s, you know,

[13:44] a lot of businesses started by taking messy action.

[13:47] But it’s something that is in you and you are so determined to do it. And you know, don’t get me wrong, there’s been many twists and turns and learnings. Like it hasn’t, you know, the seas didn’t part for me, you know, all the way through and I know it looks like that but you know,

[14:05] to get a book published, we went to over 20 publishers and they turned it down.

[14:11] But I was so determined. I was like, I know that this is a message that needs to get out there and I’m such a people pleaser. So taking like rejection for me is quite a big thing.

[14:25] Yeah, I don’t like it. I’m like, well why not? Like what’s wrong with me? Why don’t they like me? You know, and I will bend my own self to, you know, to make people like me.

[14:35] And you learn that and you have to learn that you are who you are. And you know, I don’t like everybody so people don’t have to like. Everybody doesn’t have to like me either.

[14:46] And been this beautiful journey of self discovery, of self development. You know, when you have your own business,

[14:53] you are everything in that business.

[14:56] And I didn’t have those skills beforehand. So it, it has been messy, there’s been tears, there’s been all of the emotions.

[15:06] But I knew from the beginning my vision,

[15:10] I don’t even know where the end point of my vision is yet, but my vision, I knew, I just knew that this was something that I could change people’s lives with and that keeps me going.

[15:23] Andy Walker: That’s Your purpose is to actually affect people and help them. Yeah, yeah, that’s. That drives me, too. And that was. It’s funny you say that because, I mean, I’m not as far along in my journey.

[15:34] You know, I came from a journalism background. I was in television.

[15:37] I was a journalist for 20 years.

[15:39] I was in marketing. I ran a marketing agent for 12 years. And none of that was satisfying. It was good, you know, in the moment.

[15:46] And then when the idea for Woo Biz popped into my head, like a summer and a half ago.

[15:51] Last summer. Summer before.

[15:53] It’s a knowing, right? It’s a knowing.

[15:56] And you want to serve people,

[15:58] and I’m not. I was an atheist and a materialist. Like, this energetic Woo stuff. Forget it.

[16:06] Forget it. But I love your story because,

[16:09] like me,

[16:10] right,

[16:11] you have learned how to harness the energy. You’ve taken on Woo tactics is what I call them. Woo tactics.

[16:20] And implemented them for success. And really, that’s the ethos of this show.

[16:24] How can I, as somebody who knows not much about these energetic, intuitive,

[16:29] extrasensory skills and turn my life around and make my business awesome?

[16:37] And you’re a walking demonstration. So I’m so, so delighted to hear that story because it gives hope for anybody who may be listening for this and going,

[16:44] yeah, well, woo interesting. This Woo stuff’s interesting, but will it work for me? Well, you know what, Kimberly? It was. Worked for you, clearly.

[16:51] And that’s kind of an amazing thing.

[16:54] Kimberley Gallagher: Thank you. It really has. And, you know, I don’t come from even a set of spiritual friends. Like, my husband works in construction. He’s very straight, you know, with things. And even now, he’s that, hmm, you sure?

[17:07] You know, we’re like, we’ve moved into a new home, and I’m like, I need to put this in. He’s like, do we really? I’m like, yes. Like,

[17:13] yes, we do.

[17:15] And, you know, I turned up at the school gates from going from Kimberly Gallagher on Instagram to the feng shui flow, and everyone was like, ooh, she’s had a tough lockdown.

[17:26] Like, what’s. What’s happened to her.

[17:29] But the biggest thing is, is to remember that we have a gut instinct,

[17:35] and we’re so used to taking in external information to guide us, and that’s still important,

[17:44] but your gut will tell you the right way to go.

[17:49] And even with people,

[17:51] like, are these people going to help me? Like, do they bring me what I need in my life, whether that’s business or whether that’s my home life as well? And Just surrounding yourself with these people and your gut instinct tells you that.

[18:06] And I don’t think that’s a spiritual thing. Everybody understands the gut instinct.

[18:10] But your whole spiritual being, the whole woo tactics comes from your gut and listening to that and opening yourself up to opportunities and,

[18:21] you know, I use an affirmation every day and I just say, and even saying that out loud, you think, what she, you know, what’s she talking about? Out loud? But all I say is, right, show me how I can share the magic of Feng shui with as many people around the world as possible.

[18:34] Thank you. And that’s literally all I say.

[18:37] I’m putting myself to being open and even if it’s like, show me other ways that I can earn an income, show me the magical ways, show me the most fun way that I can double my income,

[18:51] let’s go and just see what comes your way. It doesn’t, you know, you don’t have to be sat meditating. I, I can’t meditate. I do sometimes when I’m feeling really, really stressed, but meditation, I don’t have time.

[19:04] I’m coming down, I’m on my laptop. But when I work,

[19:10] I create this beautiful, calming space around me of music. I know we’re going to talk about this, but I’d make sure when I’m working,

[19:19] it is this really calm space. Because when your space is calm,

[19:24] that’s when you hear the nudges from wherever your gut, the universe, whatever it is.

[19:33] You can’t hear that when you’re so in your own head and you’re so super busy, whatever it is, like your meditation could be going for a walk,

[19:42] it could be listening to a podcast, it could be when you’re driving and just turn the music off,

[19:47] that is classed as meditation.

[19:49] And that is when you get these beautiful creative ideas, downloads, whatever it is that you want to call them,

[19:57] you’ve got to make space for it. And I think that’s the most important thing.

[20:01] Andy Walker: You know, I love that because I always. Cause I was always a hated meditation and I become adept at it, but only because I found a way to do it that makes, makes me feel good.

[20:12] And like, as you said, go for a walk, right? Go for a walk in nature and focus on your breathing or focus on the sky or focus on the weather.

[20:21] It’s focus and it’s, as you said, it’s quieting the mind.

[20:24] It’s. It really is. Because, you know, at the beginning too, things, you know, this, the messages, they whisper,

[20:30] right? It’s a gut feeling It’s a. It’s a sense. It’s a color. It’s a. It’s not.

[20:36] Hey, Andy, move your office to the front of the house.

[20:40] It’s like,

[20:41] oh, it doesn’t feel good when I’m in my office.

[20:43] Huh? I wonder why.

[20:45] Right? And then it’s like, oh, thinking about moving it downstairs.

[20:48] And then sudden I feel better.

[20:50] And so, no. But normally if I’m busy, busy, busy, I’m not gonna pick up on that.

[20:55] I’m just gonna be like, oh, it’s another fleeting thought. It’s a flyby, you know, whatever it is.

[21:00] And.

[21:01] But when you do listen to it, oh, boy,

[21:04] you never get great answers.

[21:06] Kimberley Gallagher: Yeah.

[21:07] Andy Walker: So tell. Okay, so let’s.

[21:09] So tell. Maybe you could. Because you’ve. You work at home. I think this is brilliant. Right. By the way, because.

[21:14] Because you work at home,

[21:16] in your home office.

[21:17] Clearly you’ve gone through the process of feng shui.

[21:22] Feng shuang. Feng feng shui.

[21:24] Kimberley Gallagher: I think that’s the thing. I say it. Feng shuiying.

[21:27] Andy Walker: Feng shuiying. Feng shuiying your space.

[21:31] And I bet you a lot of people who are listening to this, either they’re either remote or working at home or hybrid. Right? So maybe they are doing a bit of work at home.

[21:40] And I think it’s really important. But that said, we shouldn’t exclude either the folks that actually have to go into bricks and mortar every day and sit in a cubicle or whatever, or own a company and, you know, have to think about these kinds of things.

[21:52] So. But now’s a great time. Why don’t we hop into a little exercise?

[21:57] Do you. Could you, in about five or 10 minutes,

[22:00] help us understand maybe the top three, top five grouping of things that we probably should do to shift the energy,

[22:09] even if we just took 10, 15, 20 minute minutes, half an hour, an hour of our time and did that on the weekend, that it would make a huge difference.

[22:17] Kimberley Gallagher: Yeah, of course there’s lots of things to do. And I think I work from everywhere, so I work from home. I’d also go to a coffee shop.

[22:24] And I think it’s really important that wherever you are,

[22:28] you create a space that works for you.

[22:31] And one of the biggest things that people talk about in feng shui is about having the command position.

[22:38] And the command position is having a solid wall behind you,

[22:43] and then you look out in front of you.

[22:46] I know if you’re in a cubicle, this isn’t the easiest thing to do, so I will come back to that. But if you’re at home,

[22:51] a lot of desks are built so that you’re facing the wall. Like, how boring is that? Like, you’ve got the light, the world happening behind you and you’re facing the wall.

[23:00] And. And what feng shui believes is that if you’ve got the wall behind you,

[23:05] nothing physical or metaphorical can come at you from behind. Like, nothing is going to surprise you.

[23:12] And it’s like you’ve got this solid wall behind that gives you that solidarity and strength to do what you do. And then you have the view in front of you, which then opens your ideas and opens your mind up.

[23:25] So if you can see, spin your desk around so that they do that. Now, if you’re in a cubicle,

[23:30] this isn’t always possible, but you can do a little trick.

[23:34] Either get a photo frame that’s mirrored or just a little cosmetic mirror and place that, like next to your screen so that when you look in that mirrored whatever it is, you can see behind you.

[23:48] So you can do it so subtly, no one would ever know. Like, with that photo frame, have it there,

[23:53] you can see what’s coming behind you. So that’s a little trick there. And it’s great as well. If you’ve got kids at home that are studying, do the same. The desk’s always trying to have that command position.

[24:03] So that’s the first thing. Think about where you sit. And often when you go into a restaurant or a coffee shop,

[24:10] I will always go to, like, that far corner so that I can see everything that’s going on, rather than sat in the middle. So we understand,

[24:17] like, where we sit is really important. So that’s the first thing.

[24:22] The second thing is surround yourself with what I call visual affirmations.

[24:29] So things that you look at that you are striving towards, that makes you go, yeah, that’s why I’m here. This is why I’m doing it. So it could be a family picture on your desk,

[24:42] your screensaver on your computer or your laptop must be something aspirational so that every day when you turn it on, you go, yes,

[24:52] that’s what I’m working towards. Mine was Bondi beach for ages before we came to Australia, because every time I opened it, I was like, yes, that is what I want to do.

[25:01] Having a picture behind you, if you do have a home office,

[25:05] again,

[25:05] having something that represents what you want in your business. So is it aspirational?

[25:11] I’m still on the hunt for mine. I mean, I make myself, my life very difficult for myself by giving all of These, you know, I can’t just put something abstract behind me.

[25:20] It has to be aspirational.

[25:21] It has to represent whatever you believe to be true in your business. So do you want more teamwork, for example, so therefore you wouldn’t just have a picture of like one thing standing by itself, but you may feel that you are like the leader.

[25:35] So having like one elephant, for example, that represents strength and you know you’re ready to make an impact on the world. So surrounding yourself with artwork that is aspirational to you is really important.

[25:49] Also,

[25:50] and this is a big one.

[25:53] Try and avoid fake flowers and artificial plants around your workspace. And this is a big one in feng shui, because even just around the home in general, but especially around your workplace and offices often have artificial plants.

[26:07] But we want life, we want energy around us, we want growth. Like plants are meant to represent growth and strength and growing upwards. So when you’ve got something next to you that is trying to pretend to be something that they’re not and it’s just standing still in time,

[26:25] that’s not the energy that we want in the workspace. So real plants are an amazing thing to do.

[26:32] And then finally,

[26:34] I guess two things. One, music.

[26:37] If you’re a music lover,

[26:40] then put music on in the background and there is a. Hurts and I hope I’m going to quote it correctly, something like three. Sorry, 435, 432. I can’t remember what it is Hertz.

[26:52] And Hertz is like the beat of music.

[26:55] And that’s been scientifically proven to bring calm into your space. And there’s loads of playlists on Spotify and if you think of it’s like Wonderwall by Oasis, it’s Californiacation. Like those sorts of music, it’s.

[27:09] It’s melodic and it’s, it’s there to bring calm, but also aspiration as well.

[27:16] And then finally, which is a bit more woo.

[27:19] So if you don’t want to have it, it’s fine. I do love an amethyst crystal on the desk because an amethyst is,

[27:28] it’s brings emotional balance.

[27:31] So if you get annoyed at work, if there’s somebody around you, you know, and you just need a little bit of calm, it’s good for that.

[27:38] But also it’s a wonderful crystal for focus.

[27:42] So on your desk, on your kids desks, that amethyst crystal.

[27:46] A lot of teachers follow me as well and I think classrooms should be built in amethyst. Like it’s, you know, just having one of these on your desk. Is a really good crystal for focus.

[27:57] Andy Walker: Oh, wow. Yeah. My son’s actually struggling a little bit with some of the things at school. I wonder if I gave him an amethyst to put in his pocket or put on his desk.

[28:05] I wonder if that would help.

[28:07] It’s an interesting idea.

[28:08] Kimberley Gallagher: Definitely. Definitely.

[28:10] Andy Walker: Brilliant. Brilliant. What about water? I know.

[28:13] Kimberley Gallagher: Sorry.

[28:13] Andy Walker: Go ahead, please.

[28:15] Kimberley Gallagher: I was just gonna say the way that crystals work is that.

[28:18] And you may know this, but a crystal emits a vibration.

[28:22] And so each crystal has its own vibration, just like people.

[28:26] So imagine if you’re sat next to somebody that’s like, bouncing off the walls, you know, like a dog. When a. A dog’s, like, bouncing, like, it makes you happy, and you’re sort of matching their vibration.

[28:37] And then if you meet someone that’s really grumpy,

[28:39] like, it brings you down in the dumps as well. That’s right. These crystals emit their own vibration. And some are for calm, some are for energy, some are for wealth.

[28:49] And then it means that you then match that vibration of that crystal. So by carrying them around, especially for kids as well.

[28:56] Like, I used to just sneak one in my daughter’s, like, backpack before she went to school.

[29:01] Like a little amethyst in there.

[29:03] And it just, you know, it brings that calm to them. And I think.

[29:11] I don’t want to keep going on about it, but just into. And this links to work as well with kids. Like, kids are at my heart, the heart of what I do.

[29:17] Because as a parent,

[29:19] if your kids are unhappy,

[29:22] your life is on pause until they feel better.

[29:25] Andy Walker: So your kids are centered.

[29:27] Kimberley Gallagher: Yeah, yeah.

[29:28] Andy Walker: Because you suffer along with them, right?

[29:30] Kimberley Gallagher: Oh, it’s awful. And I think when they struggle with school, and it’s the same with work. So say at work,

[29:36] you are really struggling just like a kid at school.

[29:39] Make sure that when you come home,

[29:42] that those school items, those work items are put away.

[29:46] And I know it makes sense for organization to keep the school shoes in the hallway, to keep their coat in the hallway, their bags in the hallway.

[29:54] But they’re never going to switch off from school. It’s always waiting for them to go. So they need to have energetic time off. And it’s the same with work.

[30:04] So when you come home, do you put your work stuff, like, in the hallway, your work clothes, like, I call it, like the chair of doom in the bedroom. Like, you just sort of leave it on there for the next day,

[30:15] like,

[30:15] but put them away because we want to separate that energy and even working from home as well. Like, try and put everything away at nighttime. I think that is a huge thing when you.

[30:27] When you are working for yourself or you’re working from home, that it does leak into your home life, and there has to be a cutoff. And so just by putting things away at nighttime, it really helps.

[30:38] Andy Walker: It’s like, you know, that pristine, clear space of just what it is, not artifacts from somewhere else. Right. That brings the energy from there.

[30:48] So if my son’s bag’s out, then it’s bringing the energy of school into the home,

[30:52] and then he can’t switch off. Right?

[30:54] Kimberley Gallagher: Yeah. So even like a shoe, like, even like a laundry basket with a lid on, so that when you put the lid on, it keeps that energy inside of it. So it’s still there.

[31:03] Easy to get to in the morning,

[31:05] but just put that stuff in and then it’s gone. Out of sight, out of mind.

[31:10] Andy Walker: No bad energy from your dirty socks.

[31:12] Kimberley Gallagher: Exactly. Exactly.

[31:16] Andy Walker: Very good. Let me ask you about water. Cause I know I like. I was. I’ve been reading a bunch of books, and, you know, water, waterfalls, moving water in the middle of your home is always seems to be like kind of a bit of a trope, right?

[31:27] But I mean, I think maybe it’s central to.

[31:29] To the. To the modality. I don’t know. But tell me about water and water placement in your home or office. Frankly, I have a friend who has a. Has a business, and he has waterfall on the back wall of this sort of very rectangular space.

[31:42] It’s kind of in the center. So tell me about that.

[31:45] Kimberley Gallagher: So water is historically known for two things.

[31:50] So energetically, it cleanses the energy. So just like when we have a shower,

[31:56] it cleanses, it cleans. And so that’s what a waterfall can do. So that’s why a lot of, like airports especially, I was going through Singapore Airport recently. They’ve built a whole new terminal.

[32:07] The whole middle of it is filled with these little waterfalls all the way around.

[32:11] And you do walk through and you’re like, oh, this feels so nice. Like, it’s so cleansing.

[32:17] A lot of hotels have waterfalls.

[32:19] A lot of shopping centers have waterfalls as well. So they cleanse the energy,

[32:25] but they are also meant to bring wealth, prosperity, and abundance. So this flow,

[32:30] it’s bringing flow into your world.

[32:33] Now,

[32:35] the trickier side of things, right, this is when it can get a bit more complicated, is that if it’s in the wrong place,

[32:42] it can wash your wealth away.

[32:45] So it’s about finding the right place, which is if you work with a feng shui consultant, they can tell you exactly where you need that water. I mean, a water fountain, you know, it’s not going to drain all of your resources away.

[32:55] You know, don’t panic if you’ve just put one up and it’s not there. But if you have a water feature and you feel that your money is draining away,

[33:03] then it’s just worth sort of playing with that. But in general, water is a very cleansing energy. And if you feel,

[33:10] you know, like when you go to the ocean, you go to the beach, you stand next to the ocean, like you feel lovely and calm. And so working with the five elements in the home,

[33:21] each of them bring this lovely feeling. So water is calm, it brings flow.

[33:28] We spoke about, like plants. That’s the wood element that brings growth.

[33:32] We work with fire. So fire can bring energy and umph, but too much of it can bring arguments.

[33:40] Metal is, you know, the earth is built on or like on metal or it’s a very strong, very stable, very absorbent material.

[33:51] And then we also have earth, which is literally like putting your sand, your toes in the sand on the beach, like that lovely grounding feeling. So we work with these elements around the home to bring balance.

[34:06] And when there’s too much of one. So say the waterfall is absolutely massive and the space is really small.

[34:13] That business may be having too much flow and actually then nothing sort of sticks.

[34:18] So it’s just about making sure that we’re balancing things in the home. You know, if you walked into your home and it’s all bright red,

[34:24] it would be so overwhelming. So naturally we do it again. It’s listening to our gut and going, oh, maybe this needs a little bit of this, a little bit of that.

[34:34] Like it’s a little recipe for your home.

[34:36] Andy Walker: I love that. You know, it’s, you know, I’m a, I’m a cancer horse from a horoscope perspective. And I know that the sort of a water sign. I don’t know if there’s any connection there, but certainly when I’m near water, I feel calm,

[34:48] I feel good, I feel healthy, I feel like non stagnant perhaps. And I do have a waterfall. I put one in actually in my living room in the center of my house.

[34:59] Well,

[34:59] I figured out. And tell me if this is correct because I don’t know if I read this right,

[35:03] but you gotta find the geographic center of your home and then you want to put it on the north wall that’s directly from there. Is that correct? Is that the right?

[35:13] Because in my house I have a Square Old Farmhouse 1912. It was built,

[35:18] but there’s a garage extension off of the east side that makes the whole. If you look at. From above, it looks like a bit like a.

[35:27] A block with a tail, almost like an L on its side.

[35:32] So what I read. And again, correct me, please, if I’m. If I’m incorrect here, but I looked for the geographic. The center of that space and then I drew a line to the north wall and put the water feature there.

[35:44] And the water. It’s not a big water feature. That’s the other thing I’m concerned about.

[35:48] So did I put it in the right place?

[35:50] And do I need a certain volume of water or so? Or. Or I should just use my intuition. What’s. What’s your.

[35:56] Kimberley Gallagher: I think intuition is the biggest thing. And people ask me, like, when I’m moving home, should I need to look at something like, I am not the feng shui consultant that is going to tell you.

[36:05] Yeah, there’s some awful stories out there. I had a lady email me this week saying she lives in New York and she’s had somebody look at her apartment and she’s told her that she can’t sleep in the master bedroom because she’s going to get really ill and she needs to move to the spare room.

[36:18] Like,

[36:19] that’s not what feng shui should be about. It should be about finding balance in your home. And if you’ve gone with your intuition, you go, do you know what? That water feature feels really nice there.

[36:26] Then put it there.

[36:28] It’s your home. Like, it’s your energy.

[36:31] Feng shui can get really complicated, though, and just to sort of explain the levels of it. So there’s traditional feng shui and then there is a bit of a deeper version of feng shui, which is what I use, and it’s called flying stars feng shui.

[36:46] And so traditional feng shui will put that same map as you were explained, like the north.

[36:54] It will put that on every single house all over the world. So, like, the north needs water.

[37:00] Like, and that’s what every home will have.

[37:04] Flying stars is.

[37:07] It’s almost like saying, like how you said you’re a cancer astrologically,

[37:12] and then you may then have your astrology chart read and it’ll be like, oh, your sun is here and your moon is there. And I’m probably not giving any justice, but you’ve got 12 houses in your astrology and this is like, more to do with you.

[37:26] That’s what flying stars does. So actually we look at homes individually, so I would Say, okay, let’s look at your home,

[37:33] right? This is what’s happening energetically in all of the compass areas around your home. So we divide the home into nine different areas.

[37:41] Each of these areas represents an area of your life.

[37:43] And then I do my sudoku working out, and I say, okay, so this area of your home is bringing you this. So I’ve just done a home for another lady.

[37:53] Like, okay, there might be a few injuries in your home,

[37:57] but it’s good for money. And like, so therefore, we’re going to add this element to it to make that better. We want to really make that wealth, energy better. So we’re going to add some growth into this area.

[38:07] So we look at homes individually,

[38:10] and therefore, where you may need a water feature may be completely different to where somebody else needs a water feature, according to Flying Stars Feng shui. So I didn’t know that when I first started learning.

[38:21] There’s only a well, there’s over 120 different schools of feng shui. And I think that’s why it’s massively overcomplicated.

[38:30] And also, when going back thousands of years, the feng shui masters, they would have two apprentices working for them,

[38:39] and they would tell one of them the truth, and then they tell one of them lies, and no one would know who had the truth and who didn’t. So that’s why you’ve got these massively different ways of doing feng shui, because some of them are made up and some of them are true.

[38:55] So over time, we’re now sort of coming together and going,

[38:59] actually, this is what works.

[39:01] That didn’t work. Okay, so let’s, you know, let’s sort of filter out the stuff that wasn’t necessarily true.

[39:06] Andy Walker: Right, okay, very good. Let me ask. Actually, you know what I’ve got. I’ve got a very specific question about turning.

[39:14] When the tap is off financially and you want to turn it back on,

[39:18] I imagine there’s probably two or three things that you could probably do.

[39:23] And I guess my question is, can I do it myself without calling a feng shui expert? Or can I read it in a book? Or do you have that? But before you answer that,

[39:33] tell me, is that a big thing or is that just that, Meh. Forget about it, Andy. Because if it’s a big thing, I want to save it for the members section, and if it’s not, then let’s do it, deal with it.

[39:42] Kimberley Gallagher: Now, I think I’m going to split the question in two so we can do a member section with all the nitty gritty.

[39:50] Andy Walker: Yes.

[39:50] Kimberley Gallagher: But you can look at a little bit. So as I mentioned before, we divide the home into nine different areas. The southeast of your home looks after your wealth, prosperity and abundance.

[40:03] So that is using the actual compass. You can use it on the app, on your phone.

[40:08] Find the center. So literally just around about the center of your home,

[40:12] pivot around in a circle. Take off your smartwatches and jewelry because that will impact it.

[40:17] Find the southeast. Walk as far as you can in that direction and that looks after your wealth, prosperity and abundance.

[40:26] Take a quick look around that area.

[40:29] Can the energy flow,

[40:30] is it really cluttered?

[40:32] And what is there? Could there be something there that is holding you back? And then for the members, I’ll tell you some really specific things that you can do in there.

[40:42] Andy Walker: Okay, wonderful. That’s great. I love that because everybody gets a little taste and gets the answer.

[40:48] But if our members want to get the nitty gritty, as you said,

[40:53] stick around. Cause we’re going there next. But in the meantime, this is the end of the. The main feed on the show.

[40:59] But I do want Kimberly to. For you to tell everybody how they can get hold of you. Your new book.

[41:04] Tell us what we need to know about you so that we can engage with all of your expertise, whether it’s by buying something that you produce or by reaching out directly to you.

[41:13] Kimberley Gallagher: Oh, thank you. So my Instagram handle is the Feng Shui Flow and The Feng Shui Flow.com is my website. And there’s lots of free resources on there. There’s the nine area download, so you can find all of these areas for your home.

[41:26] That’s completely free.

[41:27] And then my book, the Calm and Happy Home is out on the 11th of November and it’s available to pre order now. And that does have a whole chapter on bringing beautiful flow into your workplace.

[41:43] Andy Walker: Oh, good.

[41:44] That’s amazing.

[41:45] Well,

[41:46] here’s the thing. Let’s make this a bestseller. So if you’re out there and you have any kind of interest in feng shui or feng shui ing things,

[41:55] go, go preorder Kimberly’s book. Because those pre orders matter, right? They’re the ones that sort of set the trigger, so.

[42:03] And buy 10 for your family.

[42:06] Kimberley Gallagher: I mean, that’ll be. I mean, you know, they make amazing Christmas presents is all they do.

[42:11] Andy Walker: And Christmas is coming up. Very good. What’s the website we can go to learn more about you?

[42:17] Kimberley Gallagher: So it’s the Feng Shui flow. So F E N G S H U I the feng shui flow.com.com.

[42:24] Andy Walker: Very good. All right, well, I’m going to check it out because I think it was on the other day, but I didn’t spend much time and I want to see what free stuff you got to offer.

[42:30] Kimberley Gallagher: Thank you.

[42:31] Andy Walker: So thank you, Kimberly Gallagher, all the way in Oz. And thanks for working with me on the time zones because I know that’s kind of crazy when I’m here in America and we worked it out.
